In my psychological assessment, I am on a 7 scale as I was 7
weeks ago. As I have mentioned all along, I have been through a difficult
personal situation and as things are clearing up, I still have some struggles.
In my spiritual assessment, I was and still am at a 9 scale,
as I always tend to strive for better. My fasting practice and my intentional
prayer helps me get closer to God and practice more loving-kindness as well as
clarity of mind where I am able to disconnect from the mundane and elevate my
soul to a higher level.
All the practices that I have intended to do are in place
and done on a daily basis, from intentional prayer to meditation to relaxation
exercises, to physical exercise to fasting.
During this course, I felt it came at the right time.
Through my struggle, I gave up on this class and as I was already registered, I
decided to take it. It couldn’t have come at a better time. I felt that I have
grown in most aspects of my life but mostly; I’ve got my confidence back. It
has been a very rewarding experience and I can easily say it was the best one
in all 4 years of my studies at Kaplan.
Some of the exercises
were difficult in the beginning and I am sure because I had a hard time
disconnecting from my thoughts . Overall, it was an amazing experience.
Thank you, all!
Shirley,
ReplyDeleteYour awesome! You stuck it out with this class and school and I’m seeing that you have gained much. Time will be the ultimate check but I feel you can turn this clock off by living in the movement and gaining what you need while your in that moment.
Way to step up to the plate with exercising more and stepping away from the plate with a few days of fasting. Fasting is a great tool if utilized has it can help to reset your appetite and give you control on what you decide to eat or not eat. I think most people could afford a bit more fasting and learn what hunger is and what it isn’t. I’ve enjoyed your blog has you always reflected well and also you come up with cool graphics. I so badly wanted to copy you but I didn’t take the time too figure out how to so my loss, maybe if I keep posting I’ll figure this out.
I hope you have wonderful holidays and best of luck with your future Kaplan endeavors if you stay the course. It has been a pleasure and a joy to have meet you and I do wish your peace and happiness....

Jeff,
Deletethank you for your kind words. I have enjoyed every minute of this class and the people here are just fantastic. The encouragement and support received through this class will be highly missed but it will always be a reminder how great people are out there, you included.
Happy holidays and best of luck!
Shirley
Shirley excellent BLOG and keep the faith. You will do wonders if you try hard enough,. I gave myself a seven initially too but now I upgraded to an eight because of meditation. If you are not doing it you should definitely try it. Visualization meditation works because you can focus on a partucular area and enhance that goal. Trust me it works. Maybe in a few weeks your score will go up also. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Shirley,
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on this week’s blog! I like how you stated you have high standards about yourself. I can relate to this because I do too maybe another reason I am so hard on myself. I have been told that one should not expect therefore they cannot be disappointed. Although it is easier said than done maybe we should think about not putting such high expectations so it is easier for us to complete our goals. Not saying there is anything wrong with having standards for ourselves but just lowering the bar a little to give room for accomplishments.
To further the discussion, what do you think is the best quality of yourself?
