Unit 2-Relaxation
As the evening comes, my little kitten Mitzu becomes very restless and playful. After wearing off the other three cats, he plays with my headphones, any cord he can find hanging. He is even chasing his own tail, like a dog. I play with him for a little bit and I feel he is just very hyper and he will not let anyone sleep as he will be jumping around all night. I also feel a bit restless after a hectic day. I took him with me to bed and after several attempts to keep him next to me, he finally gave in and started to relax as I was focusing on keeping calm and transferring my energy to him. Listening to the "Journey to relaxation" sounds, we both started to feel more relaxed and soon, I was deep in a modd that transported me into a serene place. Feeling that my breathing was slowing down and my mind was clearing of all the day's hassle, I noticed Mitzu starting to purr and lay down calmly until he fell asleep under my touch. Ever since, this is relaxation for both of us. Feeling the softness of his fur and his delicate purr, his breath on my arm, we both relax preparing for a good night's sleep. We have listened to the relaxation audio several nights and it works like a charm for cat and human.

Hey Shirley,
ReplyDeleteI think this is so cool that it worked for your cat too! I had listened to it with my 2 week old because she has an upset tummy and its hard for her to sleep through her tummy noises. Anyways I am a huge cat person and I found this fascinating and probably something i need to do with my fur babies to give them some good down time together with me.
Nice reading your blog,
-Ariel
Hi shirley,
ReplyDeleteI loved your blog post! I have 2 cats myself, and I also have 2 energetic boys. Maybe I will have the boys listen with our cats. Thank you for the idea! I look forward to reading your future blogs :)
